Markarian’s Chain

I’ve been worked on a two panel mosaic of Markarian’s Chain which is a large string of galaxies that form a portion of the Virgo Super Cluster. This large collection of galaxies are gravitationaly bound together and comprises many large and small ones. A notable list of the collection and their distances include:

M86 – 51.86 M/ly away

M84 – 60 M/ly away

NGC4388 – 65.1 M/ly away

NGC4438 – 50 M/ly away

NGC4435 – 50 M/ly away

NGC4473 – 52.74 M/ly away

NGC4477 – 54.8 M/ly away

This LRGB mosaic contains roughly 32.5 hrs of total integration time.
